Safety and Testing
Safety β Itβs in our name for a reason
From the very beginning, safety was of the utmost concern in designing the BoatSafe® heater. Ignition protection and thermodynamically safe and efficient heating is the design backbone of every heater we have ever made. We have set the industry standard in safety for you and your boat. Boaters have trusted us since 1990, and no one else can make that claim.
Our heaters have also been subjected to rigorous testing by the respected IMANNA lab in Rockledge, Florida and received the following certifications: ABYC:E11, ISO:8846, SAE:J1171, USCG Ignition Protection Standards, CE. Additionally, the casing is made with RoHS compliant materials. BoatSafe, Inc is an integral part of the marine and safety industries for your protection and confidence.
Some things in boating should be hot, some should not.™
Testing for Function
All BoatSafe® heaters can be tested to insure they are working properly. Almost every heater we have built can be tested using freeze spray 1,2. Beginning with the 2008 model year, all 750-watt heaters can be tested using either freeze spray or the push to test feature. Testing should be performed at least biannually and especially at the start of your cold season.
Please visit our customer βFleet Sheet Pagesβ for a copy of our Testing Your Heater for Function - Directions and Guidelines.
1. BoatSafe® heaters no longer ship with freeze spray since the spray itself is a shipping hazard.
2. Freeze spray can be purchased at Radio Shack, through your BoatSafe dealer OR through the Mariner-Store.com, an authorized reseller.
