Boat Cabin Heaters Boat Safe Heaters

Frequently Asked Questions

Question:

Which BoatSafe® heater is right for me?

Answer:

Due to variations in engine compartments, bilge equipment and geographic location, some boats may require a larger or an additional bilge heater. In climates with extreme temperature variations, this bilge heater may extend your boating season, but it will NOT replace proper winterizing of your boat. For additional information, consult your marine accessories dealer or BoatSafe, Inc. for recommendations specific to your boat and climate.

Question:

Which type marine power plants does your bilge heater protect?

Answer:

BoatSafe heaters protect enclosed spaces, so Inboard, Inboard/Outboard and Generators
(and their components) are protected. Keeping wind off of external metal parts with a cover can greatly enhance your bilge heaters effectiveness by stopping the cold conductive temperatures. BoatSafe heaters can not provide protective heat for outboard engines.

Question:

How do BoatSafe® heaters differ from other, smaller products on the market?

Answer:

Size actually does matter! Smaller bilge heaters must get hot to heat the engine compartment. In order to do this, they are designed so that the electronic and heating elements cannot be separated creating safety concerns. Also, even though they claim to take up less space, you cannot put anything within 12 inches of either the intake or exhaust, making their effective footprint 2 feet larger!

The BoatSafe® patented case design with its 5 + 5 venting and separation of electronic and heating elements provides safe and reliable radiant heat without thermodynamic or safety compromise.
