At what temperature should my BoatSafe® heater turn on?

Answer:

Spray Test The BoatSafe® heater’s active heat window is set to cycle on at 45 degrees Fahrenheit and cycle off at 55 degrees Fahrenheit. The thermostat has a 3 degree (plus or minus) activation window.

Question:

How long does the BoatSafe® heater take to reach operating temperature?

Answer:

Active Heat Window A heater in the engine compartment should never be hot. It is dangerous and possibly explosive. Unlike other heaters, which have “Caution Hot” painted on them, our heater never gets hot to the touch. Once activated, the BoatSafe® heater steadily reaches full heating power in 10 minutes. Fast heat is never the answer, safe heat is.

Question:

Is the BoatSafe® heater a winterizing solution for all boats in every climate?

Answer:

It depends on where you live. In climates with extreme temperature variations, this heater may extend your boating season, but it will NOT replace proper winterizing of your boat. Is the BoatSafe® heater ignition protected (safe around explosive gases) in the engine compartment?

Answer:

Active Heat Window Since its original design by a Coast Guard certified Captain, BoatSafe® heaters have been ignition protected. BoatSafe® heaters have every relevant marine certification and have been protecting boats since 1990, a claim no one else can make. The “safe” in BoatSafe® is there for a reason.
